JUDGE EXPERIENCES IN LINE WITH THE WORD Don’t believe that everything you hear is God speaking to you. Judge what you may hear by the Word of God. It doesn’t matter if you hear an audible voice, have a dream, see a vision, see an angel, or have some other kind of experience; if it isn’t in line with the Word, it’s not from God. Any of those experiences that don’t fully line up with the Word of God and don’t minister peace to you are to be rejected. The devil can make himself felt in the natural arena, for he’s the god of this world (II Corinthians 4:4). He can cause some supernatural manifestations in an attempt to deceive you, so don’t receive every experience you may have. If it’s not in line with the Word, reject it and refuse to touch it again in your thought life. The Word doesn’t instruct us to seek or pray for supernatural experiences like seeing visions, having dreams, or hearing an audible voice. By praying for them, you get off the Word, and then the devil may accommodate you, and it can make you unsound. These things happen only as God wills.
