Pulishing Fact #2

Most publishers will own the rights to your manuscript at some level. To avoid this go to csnbooks.com .

CSN books offers all publishing services including proofing, editing, and cover design.
Our printing is high quality, and we offer marketing and distribution.

Take Advantage of the Free Review

One of the most useful and insightful tools that CSN Books offers is their free review process. If you are interested in getting your book published but are unsure of where it stands, one of the editors at CSN will review your book and give you feedback on it. But probably the most important part for an author is the free quote included in the review. It is a comprehensive quote that details each and every cost of your project including editing , proofing , cover design , printing , and distribution . It uniqueness stems from its attention to detail and the fact that it is custom to your book . The first question on every author’s mind is “How much will it cost to publish my book ?”. CSN Books gives you all the information you need to know before diving into the publishing process.

Integrity Through the Editing Process

As a Christian writer it is understandable that you would be concerned with finding a proofer that would have knowledge about Christian writing . It is important to find a publisher whose editor will be able to proof and edit your book while maintaining its Christian integrity. The proofers and editors at CSN do not attempt to change the content of your book but strive to maintain its original inspired writing while enhancing it through proper editing and proofing. This is another question you should be asking before you publish your book.

Distribution

Confused about how distribution works? Wondering how to get your book sold on Amazon ? CSN Books offers distribution solutions. After printing your book , CSN offers marketing plans to fit your needs. Check it out on csnbooks.com and get all your questions answered on how to publish and distribute your book .

Best Marketing Methods?

The best ways to distribute your books are not through Amazon, which will take up to 65% of the book price to process your order, nor is it the bookstores, which demand from 45% to 55% off the retail price when they buy.
What few authors understand is that direct sales, through an 800 number, or through a site that only charges a small percent (CSN books only charges 20% to process order), you are far ahead financially.
Of course, nothing beats the direct sales at small meetings, conferences, seminars and other speaking engagements. In those cases, if you have the right book deal, you keep 100% of the publishing profits.
Before you publish, check out the deal your publisher is offering, and compare it to others.

Check Out Your Publisher

The other day a woman called me asking where she could go for help in writing her book. Of course, I suggested CSN Books since I know they have been doing writing on projects for 28 years.

She then asked about copyright, cover design, proofing and the self-publishing of her book,
and again, I referred her to csnbooks.com, since they are a full service publisher.

Before you take on printing or the subsidy publishing, please be sure and completely check out who will be doing your book. Before you publish, be it secular or Christian, do a complete check of the companies available, and look for:
1) a long term history
2) recommendations from others
3) a record of sales
4) repeat business

Those are all good indicators of a successful company.

Now What?

The publishing process can be intimidating enough without the worry of marketing and distributing books. What is the best way? Who is my audience? Where should I make my book available? The great thing about CSN Books is that they offer marketing plans that answer these questions. CSN Books understands that a book’s life goes well beyond the writing , editing , typesetting , and cover design . It’s life truly begins when the author sells their first book. What CSN Books does is gives you a chance to establish your foundation in remarkable outlets that allows the public to get a hold of your book.

Why Do Others Create Books?

As I have spoken with authors over my 28 years in publishing, I am amazed at the various reasons why people write books.
Few, it would seem, are writing for money. Most want to enter the publishing industry for various other reasons.
For some, it is the prestige of a "traditional" publisher.
For others, it is enough to self-publish and have people read their writing.
For others, it is leaving a legacy for their family and friends.
Whatever reason you write, and go through the arduous process of securing a copyright, an ISBN number, getting a cover design, getting your copy edited,
etc., I am here to say, IT IS WORTH IT!
Keep writing, keep going forward, and the final book will present you with joys not yet imagined.

Completing your book

There is so much more involved in publishing a book than just writing. Once your book is written you need to consider all the things that go into producing a book that reaces the level of quality acceptable in the industry. You will need the basics such as proofing and editing ang possibly even ghostwriting.
Once your book is ready for printing you need to staet thinking about a cover design and typesetting prior to sending it to a printer. If you are considering sending your book to a bookstore or having it available on line you will need an ISBN #.
This is just the beginning. CSN Books can help you with all of these decisions and more.

Publishing Issues

I was reading the ebook Before You Publish and I was intrigued by how detailed hey were about editing, proofing, cover design and printing. The publishing company CSN Books seems to be honest and really wants to help Christian authors get out there material. I just read a part of the book concerning copyright and ISBN I found it very helpful.

You've Just Started!

The most difficult part about self-publishing is not the creation of the book, but fighting the problem of how to promote and distribute it. After you have completed the writing, editing, proofing, typesetting and cover design, and then printed your book, your work has just begun.
Here's a tip: companies like CSN Books can put your book into the hands of major distributors around the country. Of course, it is still up to you to talk your book up at conferences and seminars. Once you birth your book, you need to recognize that your job has just begun.

Thanks,

Mike
