To fear God is to make a choice, to do things God’s way, to submit to His biblical principles. God will bless anyone who takes His Word seriously in marriage. Do not let your emotions, your anger, your pride, other people, a book or a family member convince you otherwise! Your hope starts with surrendering, then yielding your marriage to Jesus. When you hope in Him, you will never be disappointed! The road to transforming your marriage starts with you saying, “God, what do You want me to do? What are my roles and responsibilities in this marriage? I submit to you.” God’s Stand on Divorce God does not want you divorced. For I hate divorce,” says the Lord, the God of Israel, “and him who covers his garment with wrong,” says the Lord of hosts. “So take heed to your spirit, that you do not deal treacherously. [Malachi 2:16] Obviously, God feels very strongly about divorce. The next question is, “Do you feel strongly about it?” As divorce has increased in our society, the Church has been reluctant to take a firm stand against it for fear it would hurt church growth. As divorces increased, the Church focus shifted to love, forgiveness, and grace. Now, I’m glad for these three gifts, but when it comes to divorce, the Church message should be: “Divorce is our enemy. There are consequences to a divorce.
