One woman I know had been domineering and controlling in
her marriage for over 25 years, then she got saved. This woman
started to take seriously her roles and responsibilities in
marriage, especially where the Lord said to submit to her
husband’s leadership. After about three months, her husband
woke her at 2:00 a.m. and said, “I can’t stand this anymore!
What has happened to you? Suddenly you are everything I have
ever wanted. What has changed you? It is the church you’re
going to?”
She opened up the Word of God and explained to him her role
in marriage. The man’s mouth dropped open, and he said, “If
God can do that for you, I want Him in my life right now.” He
then knelt down and received Jesus.
Do not ever underestimate the power of obeying the Word of
God in your marriage!
In the same way, you wives, be submissive to your own
husbands so that even if any of them are disobedient to
the word, they may be won without a word by the
behavior of their wives. [1 Peter 3:1]
