Verse 7: “He will not fear evil tidings; His heart
is steadfast, trusting in the Lord.”
Fearing God gives you insight into His sovereignty and that
makes you very secure. Reports of evil deeds or threats will not
bring anxiety and hopelessness because you know God will
deliver you, and that you are securely in the palm of His
hand...even when evil abounds. David had the right attitude
about evil. Because he feared God he was able to boldly
proclaim:
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow
of death, I fear no evil, for You are with me.
[Psalm 23:4]
