Fear the Lord in Temptation
When you say “no” to temptation, God is able to bless you
abundantly; just look at the life of Joseph [Genesis 39-41]! There
is no doubt in my mind that Potipher’s wife was a very beautiful
woman and her efforts to seduce Joseph were very appealing.
Joseph, however, feared God...he had wisdom and discernment
from God...so when he was cornered by temptation Joseph ran!
His response brought tribulation for a season but ultimately he
was exalted for it. Pharaoh promoted Joseph to rule over Egypt
because Joseph had great wisdom and discernment from God
[Genesis 41:39-45].
