Fear of the Lord-Pastor David Hoffman

It is clear that this scripture speaks specifically of Christians
because it is about people who are seeking Him diligently. Today
they are the people who attend church, read the Bible regularly
and pray. Proverbs says they do not find Him because they hate
knowledge and refuse to fear Him. When they make choices
contrary to God’s directives they are essentially saying, “I reject
Your knowledge, God! I am not going to accept what You say
about this issue, instead I will follow my own counsel.” Their
minds and mouths may not say it, but their actions do.
That is what the Bible calls hating knowledge.
They would not accept My counsel, they spurned all of My
reproof. So they shall eat of the fruit of their own way and
be satiated with their own devices. For the waywardness
of the naive shall kill them, and the complacency of fools
shall destroy them. But he who listens to me shall live
securely, and shall be at ease from the dread of evil.
[Proverbs 1:30-33]
