Notice that in Genesis 1 God created man in His own
image. God is a spirit, so to create man in His own image,
man had to be created first as a spirit being. Then, in Genesis
2 God formed Adam’s body, breathed his spirit into
him, and Adam became a living soul. It was man’s spirit
entering the body that gave life to the body.
