Foundation Truth # 3: The husband is the servant-leader. Paul has more to say to the husband than he does the wife because the husband is the designated leader in the marriage. So, the husband ultimately is going to take on the most responsibility if that marriage fails. If you own a business, and that business fails, the person in leadership—the owner—will receive most of the blame for the failure. Whether we like it or not, God expects men to be servantleaders in the home. For 200 years our country experienced relative calm and stability in our society, I believe, because men understood their responsibilities in the home, in the community, and in their church. In these last three decades we have seen that leadership fail. Satan has done a very good job in breaking down the family and launching an attack on manhood. Satan understands that if he can belittle and make irrelevant a man’s leadership, especially in the family, he will destroy society.
