Fear of the Lord-Pastor Dave Hoffman

To be sensible, pure, workers at home, kind, being subject to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be dishonored. [Titus 2:5] Let a woman quietly receive instruction with entire submissiveness. [1 Timothy 2:11-13] The Bible is very clear: there is no partiality with God. In the Kingdom of God there is no Greek, no Hebrew, no male or female…there are just His children, and He loves them all equally. The area of submission has nothing to do with a woman as an individual, it has to do with the order of God’s authority. Wives are called to submit to the spiritual authority God has placed upon their husbands. God is not calling you to submit to a man but to the spiritual authority God has placed on him. In the military, when a uniformed sergeant and uniformed captain meet, the sergeant salutes the captain because of his authority. When the sergeant sees the captain at a ballgame where both are out of uniform, he does not salute because the Constitution says we are “created equal.” The authority of that captain rests in the office when he is in uniform, under the authority of the military.
