When they took the cart to the checkout a woman stepped in
line behind them. She examined the bounty in their cart and
said, “Boy, you’re really stocking up for the holidays!” Jim
replied that it was not for his family then explained their
Christmas tradition of blessing a family with great need. The
woman began to cry. Jim thought, “I’m going to get to witness to
this lady! God, I am ready!” Instead, the woman did not want to
talk. Jim waited for the Holy Spirit’s release to witness to her,
but nothing happened!
The cashier finished ringing up the items and announced the
total...almost two hundred dollars! As Jim reached for his
checkbook the woman behind him spoke, “You’re not going to pay
for that, I am!” Tears were streaming down her cheeks as she
addressed the clerk, “Sir, you do not take the money from him.
Here it is!” She paid for everything Jim and Melanie had placed
in the cart! They walked out of the store praising the Lord for
miraculously answering Jim’s prayer! Miracles like that just
seem to happen when you pray.
