It all gets down to staying focused and not listening to
the “pecking and crowing” that comes my way. Jesus said,
“My sheep hear my voice, and they know me and follow me.”
I only need to listen to my Shepherd’s voice and submit to
what He asks me to do. He is the only One I need to seek
to please. I can be gracious to those who are critical or
offensive as Colossians 3:12-17 teaches, but I don’t need to
dwell on what they say or attempt to please them. This
takes the sting out of criticism. If you’re continually being
criticized by a mate, a relative, co-worker, or friend, take
heart. You don’t need to let it affect your joy.
