Yet consequences await those who disobey...consequences
like living in a perpetual state of lack, accumulating credit card
debt, or arguing about money with their spouse. God intended
for money to be a tool in the hands of His people but it becomes
master over those who misuse it. It is a poor, demanding,
insatiable master! Perhaps it is no coincidence it is referred to
as “cold, hard” cash!
In my church we offer financial training through Crown
Ministries. It is an excellent program that teaches godly
principles about handling money. It is also an effective remedial
tool for those with financial problems. I believe the reason it
works so well is because it is entirely scripture-based.
Participants must memorize Bible verses about finances and
apply them in weekly homework lessons. God’s Word is living and
active [Hebrews 4:12] and always produces the results He desires
[Isaiah 55:11]. The same God who was crucified rose from the
dead and said, “Believe in Me and you will have eternal life” says,
“I will bless you if you trust Me with your finances.”
