Test Me!
My favorite part of God’s point through Malachi is the fourth
declaration found in verse 10. Essentially God says, “Test Me
and see if I will not open up the windows of heaven and pour our
blessings until they overflow.” God actually invites us to test
Him! He knows that giving ten percent is not logical to us and
He loves to prove Himself in the face of impossible odds.
The mind reasons that if you give ten percent you will have
ten percent less for your children, groceries, bills, the house, and
recreation. But we are to reject logic when it contradicts God’s
Word and instead see in the Spirit. God says He will bless those
who tithe. Test Him and you will find you live far better on the
ninety percent that remains than you would if you refused Him
the tithe and kept it all.
