4. He chose to be content with whatever God allowed! "Not that I speak from want; for I have learned to be content in whatever circumstances I am" (v. 11). Why could he be content in all circumstances? Because he had given his life to the Lord to do with as He chose, and he trusted God completely. Remember that he wrote, "For to me, to live is Christ…" (Philippians 1:21). He didn't say, "For to me, to live is Paul." Therefore, he was content.
