If the enemy can hold you in the mental arena, he’ll whip you. But if you’ll hold him in the arena of faith by holding fast to your confession of the Word and refusing to entertain wrong thoughts, you’ll whip him. Satan is the god of this world (II Corinthians 4:4); he can make himself felt and heard in the natural and mental realm. But that’s why we must hold him in the arena of faith instead of allowing him to hold us in the natural and mental arena. It’s so easy to slip back into the natural; that’s the natural thing to do. When the enemy attacks, the opposition can be felt upon the mind and body, and it’s so easy to become occupied with what we see and what we feel. But that’s when we must hold to our faith in God’s Word so that we aren’t moved by what we feel and see, but walk by what we believe. The devil may cause you to see, feel and hear something, but he can’t make you believe something. Refuse to let the pressure of what you may be seeing, feeling and hearing change what you believe.
