Chapter Four A Disciplined Mind II Corinthians 10:3-5 3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: 4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) 5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; Notice the phrase “pulling down strong holds.” Many have a misunderstanding of what “strong holds” are, but verse 5 tells us what they are – they are wrong imaginations, thinking or reasonings that are contrary to the Word of God. Wrong ways of thinking are the “strong holds” that must be dealt with. Ignorance of God’s Word produces wrong thinking, and wrong thinking produces wrong believing. The devil thrives on ignorance; he’s counting on ignorance to work his plan, for ignorance produces wrong thinking and wrong believing, which opens the door to the devil. Right thinking is thinking in line with the Word of God, and it will keep the door closed to the enemy.
