A NEW WAY OF THINKING
Not only do you have to do something with your body, but you
are the one who must do something with your mind – you must
renew it with the Word of God. Paul told us, “And be not conformed
to this world; but be ye TRANSFORMED BY THE RENEWING OF
YOUR MIND… .” To renew your mind is to give your mind a new
way of thinking. When you renew your mind with the Word of God,
you’re taking God’s thoughts and making them your own. You’re
replacing the old way you used to think with how God thinks. God’s
Word is God’s thoughts. By feeding on and acting on God’s Word,
you’re renewing your mind. To renew your mind is to give your
mind new definitions – God’s definitions, instead of human, natural
definitions. When human, natural definitions and thinking are in
opposition to what God’s Word says, then lay natural thinking aside
and take on the thoughts of the Word.
