Father of the Man a Journey Toward Reconciliation Peter L. Colman

The historical account provides sufficient insight into both Thomas’s disposition and early business practices so as to allay unwarranted speculation. Though there is, perhaps, as the reader will shortly surmise, some reason to question Thomas’s better judgment, there appears to be little cause to serve notice on his integrity. The following excerpts from the History of Newbury 1635-1902 appear to sufficiently document this critical phase in Thomas’ pilgrim journey toward his (and his descendants’) historic homestead and future resting place:

June 3, 1635, two Dutch ships, loaded with horses, and sheep.
