A Sound, Disciplined Mind-Mrs Nancy Dufresne
FORGET THE PAST
To live free from worry, discipline your mind not to touch in your
thought life that which would trouble the mind. That would include
troubling thoughts of the past; they must be forgotten. The past is
dead and gone, and should be forgotten. If you don’t forget what
should be forgotten, you’ll open the door to the enemy because he’ll
keep bringing it back up to you and trip you up with it.
Paul stated, “…but this one thing I do, FORGETTING those
things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which
are before” (Philippians 3:13). You must forget what’s behind you if
you’re to reach forward and lay hold of all that is in front of you.
You must not only forget your past, but you must also forgive
and forget the past of others; forgive and forget the wrong that someone
else may have done to you so that you can keep the door closed
to the enemy.
