A Sound Disciplined Mind-Mrs Nancy Dufresne
Abraham had the characteristic of meekness toward God and His
Word because he was quick to believe; he didn’t resist, argue against,
reason against, or doubt what God had said. “He (Abraham) staggered
not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was STRONG
IN FAITH, giving glory to God; And being FULLY PERSUADED
that, what he (God) had promised, he was able also to perform”
(Romans 4:20 & 21). Abraham was strong in faith by giving glory to
God and by being fully persuaded that God was able to do what He
said. You, too, will be strong in faith by giving glory to God and by
being fully persuaded that God is able to do what He said.
Abraham was fully persuaded. God didn’t have to coerce him
into believing Him. Abraham was quick to believe; he didn’t stagger
at the promise of God through unbelief – he didn’t reason against or
doubt God’s Word. Oh, yes, Abraham was human, just like the rest
of us, but he didn’t allow his mind to talk him out of what God said.
He believed and held fast to God’s Word.
