Meekness, in this instance, doesn’t refer to an outward behavior or in relation to other men, but meekness toward the Word. In W.E. Vine’s Expository Dictionary of New Testament Words, one of the definitions of “meekness” is the accepting of God’s dealings with us as good, and therefore without disputing or resisting.
