They were feeling the boisterous wind. They were feeling the great bucking of the waves. They were seeing and feeling the water rise in the boat, but Jesus slept on. They were so overwhelmed with what they were feeling that they woke Jesus up so He could feel what they were feeling. When Jesus awoke, He felt what the disciples felt, but He was undisturbed by it. He didn’t allow what He felt to unsettle Him or change what He believed. He rebuked the wind and the raging of the water, then turned to the disciples and rebuked them by asking, “Where’s your faith?” They weren’t the ones who sent the storm. They weren’t the ones who filled the boat with water. But they were the ones who changed what they believed because of what they felt. In the face of the storm, Jesus exercised His authority.
