Mrs Nancy Dufresne-A Sound, Disciplined Mind
If we’re not to worry, then what are we to do? First Peter 5:7 tells
us, “Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.” The
Amplified Bible reads, “Casting the whole of your care [all your
anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns, once and for all] on
Him, for He cares for you affectionately and cares about you watchfully.”
He’s watching. He sees you. He sees what you’re facing and
He wants to take care of that problem, but He can’t if you’re going
to hold onto it. Let it go! Tell the Lord that you’re casting all your
cares, worries and anxieties on Him, and then let it go. Let it go from
your thought life. Let it go from your conversations. Let it go!
When you cast your care on the Lord, you’re putting the problem
in His hands, and He can work on it. But if you take it back through
worry, then He can’t work on it because you’ve got it, not Him.
Leave it in His hands – He can take care of it.
If the temptation to worry comes back to you, say, “No, I’ve cast
that care over on the Lord and I’m not taking it back. I’ve put it in
His hands and He’s taking care of it.”
If you’re awakened in the middle of the night and tempted to
worry, say, “I refuse to worry. I’ve cast that care over on the Lord and
I’m not taking it back. I’ve put it in His hands and He’s taking care
of it.” Then refuse to touch it in your thought life, refuse to think
about it, and praise your way back to sleep.
