Instead of running him out of the garden (for they had the authority), Eve listened to him – she believed him and acted in line with what he said, and humanity has been affected ever since. Don’t listen to wrong thoughts. Instead, resist them by answering them with the Word of God! Ephesians 4:27 warns us, “Neither give place to the devil.” The devil can’t take a place in us, but we can give him place. But if we can give him place, we can also take back the place we gave him. One way a Christian can open the door and give place to the devil is by listening to him, but they can close the door to him and take back the place from him by quit listening to him.
