INSTRUCTIONS FOR SPEAKING IN TONGUES
When speaking in tongues, it is important that you do
it in such a way so as to gain the greatest benefit. It is vital
that you not let your mind roam around as you speak in
tongues. If you allow your mind to stay active, your spirit
won’t be able to communicate to your mind the things that
are in your spirit.
It is of the utmost importance that you quiet the mind
and keep it still as you speak in tongues. Put your mind in
neutral, don’t think on anything, or think on the Lord, but
focus on what is going on in your spirit. Quiet the mind
and focus on your spirit. Sometimes it may take a while to
quiet the mind, but just stay with it until it becomes quiet.
God communicates with you through you spirit, not
your mind. He will speak to your spirit, then your spirit
enlightens your mind; but if you don’t quiet your mind,
your spirit won’t be heard.
