NANA’S STORY
My husband decided to take little Monica and Becca for
a walk while we were visiting them. He loved any chance
to be with his granddaughters and cherished their hugs
and kisses. He could always make any walk adventurous,
and they knew it, so they eagerly joined him for this
“safari” into the wild. As they headed out through fields
and trees behind their home, my husband offered to carry
little two-year-old Becca. He could see that this was quite
an effort for her as there were rocks and logs to step over
and he could see she was weary. But, being a normal twoyear-
old, she said she could do it by herself. However, as
the hike grew longer, Becca finally looked up at her Papa
and said, “Papa, I can’t do it by’self. Pease carry me!”
