Mrs Nancy Dufresne-A Sound Disciplined Mind
THE JOY OF THE LORD
Nehemiah 8:10 tells us, “… the joy of the Lord is your strength.”
Joy is a fruit of the born again spirit; it is resident in the believer. One
way that joy is released is through rejoicing. The joy of the Lord is
your strength, so as you rejoice in God and His Word, you’re
strengthened to overcome opposition.
We’re not to be joyful and praising God only when everything is
going good and everything is in place. We’re not to be joyful only
when we feel like it, but we’re to be joyful in the face of all opposition
– no matter what it may be. That’s when we experience the real
value, benefits and power of joy and praise. Joy is a spiritual force
and a spiritual flow from within our spirits. When things are seemingly
out of place and not as we wish them to be, we are to make the
decision to stay in the flow of joy through rejoicing and praising the
Lord.
