Always remember in the face of all opposition that the enemy is a defeated foe. Always remember that Jesus spoiled principalities and powers (Colossians 2:15); He disarmed them, He exposed them as shattered, empty and defeated, and He reduced them to nothing. Jesus’ defeat of the enemy is total and complete. You don’t have to do anything else to defeat the devil – he is defeated! You don’t have to fight him – he is a defeated foe already! Jesus did that for you! The only fight we’re told to engage in is the good fight of faith (I Timothy 6:12). You fight the good fight of faith by taking your stand on the Word of God and refusing to be swayed from it. This is done by speaking and holding to God’s Word in the face of all opposition. Stand your ground rejoicing, for victory is yours, no matter what opposes you. “…Greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world” (I John 4:4). The greater One is in you. The Spirit of God on the inside of you is the greater One and the devil is the lesser one! The devil is no match for the greater One that’s in you.
