Many endeavor to resist the devil by telling him to go, but then they pause a moment to see if it worked – to see if he left. They check their mind to see whether or not the thought is still there. Don’t check your mind to see if it worked – that’s not faith. When you resist the devil, answer him with the Word and then refuse to touch the wrong thought in your thought life; don’t think about it – quit handling it mentally – let it go – let it go out of your thought life. One strategy of the enemy is to suggest something repeatedly to the mind, in hopes of getting you to believe it. Just because he suggests something repeatedly doesn’t make it true. Repetition doesn’t make it true. Answer those thoughts with the Word, no matter how many times he suggests it, and then start praising God for His Word – that’s how you hold yourself in the faith arena, the spirit arena, and out of the mental arena.
