DON’T BE SWAYED In Ephesians 6:12, Paul tells us, “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” Many read the word “wrestle” and think that we’re to wrestle with the enemy. But W.E.Vine’s Expository Dictionary of New Testament Words says that the word “wrestle” means to sway. The wrestling we encounter is when the devil and evil spirits try to sway us. They try to sway us from standing our ground on God’s Word. They try to sway us out of faith and into worry, fear, and doubt. They try to sway us out of the spirit, and into the mental arena. But if we’re full of the Word and the Spirit, and fully clad in the armor of God, they can’t sway us as we take a firm stand on God’s Word. During a test, the enemy may try to bombard your mind; he will try to pressure your mind in an attempt to sway you away from faith in God’s Word.
