Fear of the Lord-Pastor David Hoffman
Responding to Pastoral Responsibility
The responsibility of a pastor is to disciple the Christians in
his church so that they grow to understand who they are in Jesus
Christ so they can be a light in the world. It is our challenge to
help them understand who they are in Christ so that they can go
into the world and make an impact for Jesus Christ.
How should we respond to those individuals God has placed
in positions of leadership in the church?
Obey your leaders, and submit to them; for they keep
watch over your souls, as those who will give an account.
Let them do this with joy and not with grief, for this
would be unprofitable for you. [Hebrews 13:17]
Paul is essentially saying, “Listen, if you give them a bunch
of grief, if you are always questioning them, always criticizing
them, nothing is going to happen in the church. The church will
not be profitable for you.”
