Fearing the Lord Involves
Respecting God’s Delegated Authority
In this chapter we are going to answer the question, “If I
choose to fear God, how does that affect how I treat, respond, or
react to God’s delegated authority in the church?” This chapter
will not cover authority in any other area beside that of the
Church.
Understanding spiritual authority is vital to the well-being of
the church. One of the main reasons why many pastors leave
their churches is because they grow weary of all the criticism,
dissention, fault-finding and constant questioning over every
decision they make. I know a man who recently stepped down
from the ministry simply because he became weary of all the
questioning. People contested every decision he made.
