You must learn how to answer the devil. Answer him with the
Word of God. You can’t out-think him – answer him with God’s
Word in your mouth.
The enemy wants to capture your thought life, so he seeks to
inject thoughts. The only power the enemy has is the power of suggestion.
He will suggest a thought, and if he can get you to continually
turn it over in your thought life, then you could start believing it.
If you believe it, then you’ll speak it, and you’ll open the door to him.
But as a child of God, you have total and absolute authority over
him! As you stand your ground against him and resist the thoughts
he brings, he will flee from you. James 4:7 tells us, “Submit yourselves
therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”
We’re not resisting him in ourselves; we are resisting him as one who
is in Christ – one who has been given authority over him.
