If he can’t keep you out of church, then he’ll try to use distractions
during a service to draw your attention away from receiving the
Word that is being taught. But discipline your mind so that while the
teaching or preaching of the Word is going on in a service, you don’t
allow yourself to be distracted and miss hearing your answer, which
is the Word of God. The Word is your answer – don’t be distracted
from it.
Each of us should hold the highest regard for our pastor who
feeds us the Word of God, for they help us to renew our minds with
God’s Word. They, along with the other fivefold offices, play a vital
role in the process of renewing of our minds. That’s one reason we
are to honor and respect the supply they bring to our lives. We are to
protect our relationship with our pastor and protect their role in our
lives, for their supply is crucial to our spiritual development. We are
not to allow wrong thoughts or wrong things to separate us from the
pastor God puts in our lives because we need the supply they bring.
