Andy went to school and I prayed throughout the entire day.
“Lord,” I pleaded, “You better give me an answer here because I
am clueless!”
I know I can trust God’s Word for guidance in all things, but
there is no scripture that specifically says, “If your child is
having difficulty reading and does not want to attend school, do
this.”
I honestly did not know how to handle this dilemma, but I
knew it had to begin with prayer. I came home from work that
day and said, “Andy, I want to talk to you.” “Sure, Dad,” he
replied, and we stepped into my home office where we could talk
privately. We both sat down, but before I spoke a single word he
said, “Dad, I thought about it and I’ll go to school for the rest of
the year and then we’ll talk about it.” “Ok,” I said and he stood
up and walked out of the room.
