Dufresne

The spirit of prayer is as diversified as the Spirit Himself. There are patterns that the Spirit may lead one in, but how broad is His range. There’s always more to know and farther to go when following the Holy Spirit in conducting Kingdom business.
Much has been written on the subject of prayer, and I don’t seek to duplicate those teachings, but I am stirred to put what I have learned during times of prayer into book form so that others may be instructed and encouraged in this divine direction of prayer.
The subject of prayer, being so vast, cannot be completely taught in one book, so I intend to only focus on aspects of prayer which I am prompted by the Spirit of God to address.
Every believer has a royal invitation from God Himself to “come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need” (Hebrews 4:16). The Amplified Bible of this verse reads,
Let us then fearlessly and confidently and boldly draw near to the throne of grace…that we may receive mercy [for our failures] and find grace to help in good time for every need [appropriate help and well-timed help, coming just when we need it].
The throne is the place of obtaining. No need goes unmet at the throne. No question goes unanswered at the throne.

We are children of the throne. We belong there.
What a privilege has been given to us as God’s children to have such an invitation to conduct Kingdom business with His throne! There is no expiration date to this invitation at His throne; you can come as often as you like, and stay as long as you will. How many times we have forfeited our place in His presence by being occupied with the unimportant and unfruitful? May we all learn that the business of God’s kingdom is to hold its proper place in our life, and without giving proper attention to this great privilege of prayer, we forfeit much – not only for our own lives, but for the lives of others who need the influence of the throne.
