As founder of CSN Books, I started in the company in 1981 by providing a writing service to conference leaders, teachers, pastors, psychologists and other professionals in helping them to write their books. One of the first books I ever wrote was for Dave Barr, and it was called Riding the Edge, which has since sold 40,000 plus copies. It was the story of a man who had two prosthetic legs, yet rode a 19-year-old Harvey Davidson around the world in just over three years. If you google, you will find it heavily promoted on the web. Currently, I’ve worked with over 80 authors who have sold over 7 million books.

The cost for a book project depends upon the research needed, and the interview time. For example, I’ve been required to travel to the Philippines and to Paraguay to interview subjects, and that drives up the pricing. With pastors and conference speakers, we specialize in taking their taped sermons and turning them into teaching books. Depending upon the cohesiveness of the tapes, this is a very reasonable service. Our cost to transcribe a sermon and secure a firm bid on any topic is $1 per spoken minute, and the funds from that service go to stay-at-home working mothers who transcribe for us.
