We believed a new reality in the world was on the horizon...the oneness of mankind. We were not citizens of the United States but citizens of the world. Borders were meaningless. People everywhere were members of one family...humanity...and the only way to survive and thrive was to embrace each other in love! Our music and literature affirmed these ideas. Yet within a relatively short time this movement died. Why? I believe it was because as we grew up a bit and experienced life we discovered that we were not capable of loving others!
