Paul recognized that Mark wasn’t spiritually mature
enough for such a trip and refused to take him. Paul wasn’t
trying to get his own way; he was trying to protect Mark.
Yet the Bible tells us that Barnabus “determined” to get his
way and caused a contention, and Paul and Barnabus separated
partnership (Acts 15).
