There are two things we can learn from this. The first
is how sneaky the serpent is. It is hardly ever seen until it
is ready to do great harm and I believe that it’s the same
in our spiritual lives. Satan can slither his way into our
lives through our thoughts and emotions, if we’re not alert
and watching for danger.
Be of sober spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary,
the devil, prowls about like a roaring lion seeking
someone to devour. But resist him, firm in your
faith...
(1 Peter 5:8,9a)
