David wrote in Psalms 23, “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not
want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: He leadeth me
beside the still waters. HE RESTORETH MY SOUL… .” How does
God restore your soul? Through the Word of God. As you feed and
act on the Word of God, your soul is restored.
As we can see in these passages, Paul calls this process the
“renewing of the mind”. James calls it the “saving of your soul”.
John calls it the “prospering of the soul”. David calls it the “restoring
of the soul”. They are all saying the same thing. To experience
success in life, you must take time to renew your mind with the
Word. This happens as you feed on God’s Word in your private devotional
time, and as you sit under accurate teaching of the Word.
It’s not enough to know what the Word says – you must be a doer
of the Word if your mind is to be renewed.rosper, which would cause the other arenas of their life to
