Not only did God raise up Jesus, but He also raised us up together
with Him, and made us, the Church, to sit together with Christ in
heavenly places; it is a seat of victory and authority. The authority we
exercise is an authority that stems from the throne. We occupy a seat
that is far above all evil powers. The devil and evil spirits have no
authority over the believer, for we have been delivered from the
authority of the enemy and translated into God’s kingdom, and every
believer now has joint seating with Christ far above all our enemies.
As we renew our minds with the truth of these scriptures, we see
that we are no victim to the enemy. Because of what Jesus did for us,
we are made to reign in this life. “For if by one man’s offence
(Adam’s sin) death reigned by one: much more they which receive
abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness SHALL REIGN
IN LIFE by one, Jesus Christ” (Romans 5:17). We are to reign over
circumstances in this life; they are not to reign over us.
You must exercise your authority over the enemy if you are to
reign over circumstances.
