PRESENT YOUR BODY TO GOD
You are a three-fold being: you are a spirit, you possess a soul
(made up of your mind, will and emotions), and you live in a body. At
the time you were born again, God did something with your spirit –
He took out that old spirit and nature of death that was in you – He
gave you a new spirit that now has the life and nature of God in it. But
you still have the same mind and the same body you did before you
were born again. Although God gave you a new spirit, the Word says
that you are the one who has to do something with your mind and with
your body.
What are you to do with your body? Paul tells us in Romans 12:1,
“… present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God,
which is your reasonable service.” The Amplified Bible reads,
“…which is your…spiritual worship .” You are to present your body
to God to do that which glorifies Him. When you present your body
to God to do that which is right in His sight, that is spiritual worship
– that is one way you worship Him. To present your body to God is
spiritual worship because it is something that you do with your spirit;
with your spirit you present your body to God for His glory.
