God permitted this attack to come to Moses because
when Moses disobeyed God, he got on the devil’s territory
and sickness came on him. When he neglected to do the
right thing, it nearly cost him his life. (It should be understood
that when the translators of the Bible translated the
Old Testament, because there were no English words that
paralleled the Hebrew words in this passage, they translated
it in the causative sense instead of the permissive
sense. God doesn’t cause anyone to be sick, but He has to
permit it when people disobey Him and get on the devil’s
territory. It is there that the devil is able to attach sickness
and disease to them; and God can’t do anything until
they move off the devil’s territory and obey the instructions
of God.)
