A clear destination is a necessary ingredient to be incorporated into every Christian's life. Maturity should be the goal of every born-again believer. Sadly, most Christians today are waiting for that spiritual elevator to whisk us out of this wretched world onto golden streets into shining mansions. God has another plan. There are no shortcuts. He saves us out of "Egypt", marches us through the burning desert oft-times against our will, to bring us into the hostile land of "Canaan" to an overcoming life. This book gives the reader some idea of what this journey encompasses.
This author's life has been a history of stumbling, falling and wondering if I should get up -- rising to walk a few more miles and repeat the process all over. Through it all, the journey of over fifty years has been exciting, often depressing and always filled with promise. I think that is probably the normal Christian experience. God is faithful to dust us off, to encourage and strengthen us, giving us a glimpse of the waiting prize.
