In this chapter we are going to answer the question, “If I
choose to fear God, how does that affect how I treat, respond, or
react to God’s delegated authority in the church?” This chapter
will not cover authority in any other area beside that of the
Church.
Understanding spiritual authority is vital to the well-being of
the church. One of the main reasons why many pastors leave
their churches is because they grow weary of all the criticism,
dissention, fault-finding and constant questioning over every
decision they make. I know a man who recently stepped down
from the ministry simply because he became weary of all the
questioning. People contested every decision he made.

Prayer is not optional if you desire to experience God’s presence and power. Prayer must be central in your life if you choose to fear and obey Him. FULL OF THE WORD We are told to “be strong in the Lord.” We’re not told to be strong in ourselves, but we’re to be strong “in the Lord.” What does it mean to “be strong in the Lord?” God and His Word are one. To be strong in the Lord means to be strong in the Word. Colossians 3:16 instructs us to, “Let the word of Christ dwell in you RICHLY in all wisdom... .” Feed yourself on God’s Word; put it in your heart and mind – fill yourself with the Word. What you’re full of is what will move you. The Bible tells us that Jesus was full of compassion for the multitudes and He healed them. The compassion He was full of moved Him to heal them. The previous verse tells us that this is speaking of a righteous person who is right before God. What words from God's law could I think of to keep me from slipping into worry or fear?
