INDWELLING VS. INFILLING When you’re born again, you receive the indwelling of the Person of the Holy Spirit. Romans 8:16 tells us, “The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God.” When you’re born again, you know it because the Spirit bears witness with your own spirit that you are a child of God; He confirms it to you. He’s able to bear witness with your spirit because He’s in you; you are indwelt by the Spirit of God. But the Word of God speaks of another experience subsequent to the new birth that belongs to every believer, and that is to be baptized with the Holy Spirit, or to receive the infilling of the Holy Spirit.
