The publishing industry is changing drastically!
Four years ago, about 200,000 titles were sent to press. Last year, because of Print on Demand being used by many independents, over 800,000 books went to press.
Everyone wants their books in bookstores, but obviously, with the HUGE INCREASE in new books, bookstores have made it EXTREMELY DIFFICULT for any book to get on their shelves. The best hope for 99% of all books is the ISBN # which registers your book in an electronic catalog that is ACCESSIBLE to the bookstore.
Many authors are living with unrealistic dreams, and need to better understand the publishing business. That's why CSN has created "Before You Publish" by Tim Wourms, to better help you understand the emerging nature of publishing.

You can download your free copy by going to csnbooks.com.At CSN Books and Legacy Line Publishing, your book is proofed at least twice, once after the edit and once after typesetting. These proofs are performed by two separate proofers.
The typesetting process involves both technical and artistic elements. The technical side has to do with the proper alignment of the book, including the placement of headers and footers, and the creating of a flow that keeps the reader from being frustrated. This process can be very difficult because it is like working with one large file. If you change something on page 9 of a 100 page book, then that one change could impact pages 10 through 100, thus causing the typesetter to reformat or at least re-examine the flow for the entire book.
The artistic side deals with how a typesetter presents the book. This could include a unique presentation of the chapter headings, font choices, a special design, picture insertions, call-out boxes or Scripture layout. Typesetting is one of the most critical and time-intensive phases of a book’s creation, yet it seems to be vastly undervalued by many low-budget publishers. As a result, many authors who believed they were getting a quality product from a publisher ended up with an inferior book that could not be promoted properly within the publishing industry due to shoddy typesetting.

CSN books is a Christian publisher and Legacy Line publishing is our cross-over division.
